The Service
isitcredible.com is operated by The Catalogue of Errors Ltd. It uses a system called "Reviewer 2": large language models generate critical assessments of academic texts to identify methodological weaknesses, data inconsistencies, and logical errors. By using the Service, you pay for a private, automated critique of your manuscript.
The Public Archive
The Catalogue of Errors Ltd also provides a public archive (the "Archive") of reports on published academic texts. This is a public good. By publishing a report,the Catalogue of Errors Ltd adopts the findings contained therein as its honest opinion. This opinion is based upon:
- The specific text cited in the report;
- The report written by Reviewer 2; and
- The approval of that report by human editors.
Reports are not statements of fact regarding the character or competence of authors, but rather methodological critiques of the texts under review.
By donating to The Catalogue of Errors Ltd, you help to maintain the infrastructure of the Archive. While we attempt to make reports on all nominated texts, we make be prevented from doing so for technical or ethical reasons. In such cases, your donation remains with the project to fund other reports.
Payments and Refunds
Sales for the Service are final once payment is made. If your report cannot be completed for any reason, you will be refunded.
Donations made to support the Archive are non-refundable.
Data Handling
When using the Service, your privacy is paramount. Source files are processed solely to generate the report and are strictly deleted from our servers immediately after the job is completed. Neither we nor our partners use your uploaded files to train large language models.
When making a donation, you may upload files to help our human researchers find issues in your nominated text. These uploads will be stored on our system, but are strictly for the use of our human researchers.
Comments on reports in the Archive will be retained indefinitely on our servers.
The Public Archive and Corrections
Reports in the Archive are released under a CC-BY 4.0 license. Revised versions may be produced.
We acknowledge that the search for truth is an iterative process. If you believe a report contains a factual error or a misunderstanding of the text:
- You may submit a correction via the private comment form attached to every report.
- After being assessed by our human researchers, the comments may be used to produce revised versions of the report that will be added to the Archive.
- We do not remove reports solely based on disagreement with their conclusions.
The Disclaimer
Reviewer 2 utilizes third-party large language models to analyze text. While we seek to minimize hallucinations and published reports are the honest opinion of The Catalogue of Errors Ltd, the models can still make mistakes. Users should verify specific page references and data points independently.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use this Service to: upload malware; attempt to reverse-engineer our system; submit fraudulent payment information; or use the nomination system for the purpose of harassment. We reserve the right to suspend any job that violates these terms.
Privacy and Data Protection

We process data under the following legal bases:
- Contractual necessity: To deliver the report you paid for.
- Legitimate interests and public interest: To advance scientific discovery. Published reports are processed under the journalism and academic research exemptions of the Data Protection Act 2018, as necessary for the exercise of freedom of expression.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these terms, including claims regarding defamation or data protection, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
